Moving

I am in the process of cleaning out our apartment.

Yes I know we have two months left but I would really like to have almost everything gone by the end of June so in July all we have to focus on is getting things settled for when we get to Portland, cleaning the apartment and Eric can focus on finishing the last few things of his school.
The move will be stressful enough by July and we don't need the extra pressure of trying to figure out what to keep, what to sell and what to throw away.

With that being said, as I begin this LONG process of eliminating things, I am realizing we have WAY to much stuff. How are we ever going to fit our belongings in the back of the VW? The trunk is so small.

I think this is a really good way to evaluate what is important to you and what can you live without. The thought that is constantly running through my head is, "Do we really need this?"

And most of the time, the answer is "NO!"

  1. When Steve and I moved the first time, we didn't even fill up half of the back of a small U-Haul trailer. Now it's another story. But when we move I always do what you are doing and look at our things and think "is this really worth moving half way across the country (or world)?"
